Mountain Shadow Director“The Tale of Silyan” has been described as a blend of documentary and folktale, using real-life events to explore themes of nature, human connection, and economic migration. It’s hardly what one thinks of when describing what one might consider a typical documentary film. Hence, I’ve dubbed it a “docu-drama.” It takes “real life” characters to dramatically depict a common human story; with a lesson to be learned; or re-learned.
