3rd Annual Short Film Competition

Mountain Shadow's 3rd Annual Short Film Competition was held on September 15th & 16th in the Las Lomas High School Theater. Thirteen filmmakers from across the country (as well as Nils from Belgium) presented their terrific collection of short films to a total audience of nearly 600! Each film was a winner in its own right. Below are the results of the combined Audience Ballots from the two shows.

Ten of our 13 Finalists received a $150 Cash Award by virtue of having been selected by our 28 Jurors and  to present their film included:

- Ryan Rosenthal, for “Buzzed (animated)
- Scott Hidula, for “Getting It Right” (documentary)
- Fez Zafar, for "The Forotten Part of America” (documentary)
- Dallin Penman, for “Navajo Tales: The Stars” (animated
- Adam J. Hardy, for “Privacy” (live-action / narrative)
- Matt Beurois, for “Five Minutes with Mary”  (live-action / narrative)
- Ninaad Kiulkarn, for “KCLOC” ((animated)
- J.J. Painter, for “Tru” (documentary)
- Collin McAtee, for “Memoire” (animated)
- Nils Janssens, for “Drush"

3rd Place Winner ($250) went to: Steve Hosford, for “Philosophy 101”

2nd Place Winner ($500) went to: Jason Matsumoto and Full Spectrum Features, for “The Orange Story”

1st Place Winner ($1,000) went to Samara Lerman, for “Iron."
